Reconciliation
The Lord Jesus Christ, physician of our souls and bodies, who forgave the sins of the paralytic and restored him to bodily health, has willed that his Church continue, in the power of the Holy Spirit, his work of healing and salvation, even among her own members. Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1421
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a sacrament of love, mercy and healing. It is through reconciliation that we take the time to reflect and are given insight into areas where we can reach out to God to help us grow. Asking for God’s love, mercy, compassion and help through his intermediary the priest, we experience the gift of God’s everlasting mercy, where we are forgiven completely for all instances when we have not been able to live as Jesus taught.
It is through the Sacrament of Reconciliation where we are given the gift of beginning again. …”but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.” Ephesians 5:8
