We have heard time and again that the needs of our local community have increased in recent months. Guests at the door of our Franciscan Center in need of a sandwich or hot meal has more than doubled, and we know this is a reflection of the support many in our area need.
So, who receives the gifts from our Giving Tree?

House of Bread Programs
HOB-EDU
The two programs in the education unit include English classes offering English literacy and citizenship classes, as well as assistance for refugees and immigrants. The other education program is for adults to obtain their high school equivalency documentation to take the next steps to achieve their goals.
HOB-FAM
Provides assistance to families from the north end of Hartford who are experiencing financial hardships.
HOB-S
When you select a gift with this in the ID, you are providing a gift for an individual who comes to the Soup Kitchen for services. In total, more than5500 meals a month are served to local men, women, and children.
HOB-TA
This service provides transitional housing for men and HOB-TW provides transitional housing for women. These facilities provide safe, comfortable, and affordable housing while the individuals are in substance abuse recovery programs. Each facility has an alcohol/drug counselor as a site manager.
Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Programs
CCMC-T
This program provides support to Teens who have been exposed to HIV. Advancement in medicines for this population keeps these teens healthy and testing negative for this virus.
CCMT-YA
These Young Adults have grown up in less than ideal circumstance and are given the support to lead productive lives.

Weekdays:
Wednesday thru Friday, Nov. 29, 30, and Dec. 1 from 8:15 – 10:00 AM
Wednesday thru Friday, Dec 6, 7, and 8 from 8:15 – 10:00 AM
Weekends:
Saturdays, Dec 2 & 9 from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Sundays, Dec 3 & 10 from 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM and 4:30 – 6:00 PM
When you choose your gift, make sure to review the delivery instructions! Please make note of the gift ID number – this is needed when you deliver your gift!!
