The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza has tragically resulted in nearly 35,000 deaths, mostly among women and children, and another 78,000 wounded, emphasizing the severe challenges the region faces. In response, Franciscan and Catholic leaders, driven by a commitment to the Gospel and human rights, have endorsed a call for an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages, and urgent humanitarian aid.
As Franciscans living the Gospel, we cannot stay silent while such overwhelming suffering unfolds. We call on our brothers and sisters to raise their voices with us, inspired by the words we pray so often, “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.”
Several weeks ago we held a prayer vigil for peace here at SPSA. Now we ask you to raise your voices and join us in this critical peace initiative by the Franciscan Action Network. Your support is vital in advocating for justice, peace, and a lasting political solution for both Israeli and Palestinian peoples. Signatures are being collected until May 19, with the final letter to be presented to the White House on the Feast of Pentecost. Join here to make a difference.
