Your chance to express your struggles, challenges, hopes, and desires for a better church moving forward
The parish of St. Patrick-St. Anthony has a wonderful and unique opportunity to join with our Catholic brothers and sisters throughout the world to take part in the upcoming Synod on Synodality in Rome in 2023. It is particularly appropriate for us as a Franciscan parish to do so because St. Francis of Assisi was one of the great reformers of the Church in his day. Through his embrace of poverty and humility, Francis showed how the love of God could be manifested in Italy in the Middle Ages. Today in the 21st Century, under another Francis, we are not only witnessing his call to renewal and reform – we are being invited to be part of it!”

Pope Francis wants to hear from you!
This Synod moment in our Church is quite significant and extraordinary. WE have been invited by Pope Francis to participate in this global initiative for dialogue and dreaming!
Our faith community will provide opportunities for each of us to give input into the Pope’s Synod.
We are asked to share about our personal journeys with the Church. Perhaps this is the first time anyone has ever invited you to do this – please don’t miss out on this opportunity!
All of this will be wrapped in prayer because what we are embarking on together is a discernment of where the Holy Spirit is moving in our personal lives, in the life of our faith community, and in our global church. Perhaps this sounds a bit overwhelming. However, what we have tapped into is the possibility of this moment — the chance to express struggles and challenges, hopes and desires — for a better Church moving forward. The goal is listening for where the Holy Spirit is calling the Church.
ALL input gathered and stories shared during these opportunities will be handled with care, collated in a sacred way, and shared anonymously by our Parish Synod Committee with the Vatican collection portal. For detailed information, please contact Pat Curtis, [email protected]
