Speaking through Our Hands: Quilt work from the private collection of Edjohnetta Miller, internationally acclaimed textile artist.
This exhibition featured the quilt artwork from the private collection of EdJohnetta Miller. Ms. Miller is an internationally acclaimed textile artist whose own work hangs in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. This exhibit included contemporary quilts along with at least one antique quilt (c.1899). And, of great interest and significance, a Gee’s Bend quilt by Minder Pettiway Coleman hung in our Gallery.
The exhibit spanned both February and March in celebration of Black History and Women’s History months respectively.
