Reception and Panel Discussion Thursday, May 5, 6 pm
Letters from Prison was a powerful exhibition of works by inmates in Connecticut’s correctional facilities. Letters to family and friends, as well as open letters to the community were on display, along with stunning artwork the prisoners drew on the letters’ envelopes. The works were often quite intricate and thought-provoking. Half of the letters were from 1995, and the other half from 2005. The panel included the program director, a Prison Arts Program teacher, and a former inmate.
