Our own Sr. Ginny Sheehan, SNDdeN is partnering with St. Mary’s Church in Longmeadow, MA in their support of the Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Chicopee, MA to aid Ukrainian refugee families who have arrived within the Diocese of Springfield, MA. These families have very few belongings. St. Mary’s Food for the Soul Ministry is collecting cold weather clothing, furniture, and a variety of household goods. These families need EVERYTHING! Food for the Soul Ministry is now turning to local faith communities for help. Current needs listed below:
Everyday items
- Bedding (sheets, comforters, pillows, etc.)
- Lamps
- Kitchen pots and pans
- Dishes
- Towels and linens
- Diapers and baby wipes
New or gently worn clothing
- Cold weather clothing for children from ages 3 months to 16
Items for all ages
- Mittens
- Hats
- Coats
- Sneakers
- Dresses
- Pants
- Dress clothing for church
Donated items can be dropped off Saturday, January 7th from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm at the Franciscan Center for Urban Ministry. NOTE: Nothing will be accepted outside of these hours.
