At St. Patrick – St. Anthony and the Franciscan Center for Urban Ministry, we recognize that all who walk through our doors have gifts and talents to share. Many of our ministries include our youngest parishioners in their ministry.
This year, many dedicated, longtime, young volunteers have graduated from high school and are heading off to college. Keep an eye on this page as we share “Graduate Spotlights” of these dedicated individuals. You will find many of their faces familiar since they have enriched our parish and community with their gifts over the years.
We share our gratitude to them for answering God’s call to be who they are, by sharing their gifts of time and talent with us.
Ignacio Feged
Ignacio has been a Youth Lector at St. Patrick–St. Anthony since he was eight years old and has continued reading at mass all the way through his senior year. Ignacio has also gone through the First Communion and Confirmation programs at St. Patrick–St. Anthony, and serves as a Board Member of the Franciscan Center for Urban Ministry.
Ignacio graduated from Loomis Chaffee as a member of the Cum Laude Society and recipient of the Florence E. Sellers Prize. He served as President of the Shultz Fellowship, a Head Tour Guide, and a member of the Disciplinary Committee. Ignacio also played with the Varsity Soccer team and captained the Varsity Squash team. As a Head Delegate for his school’s Model UN team, Ignacio was awarded Best Delegate at the Yale Model UN, Boston, and Chicago Model UN conferences.
Ignacio will be heading to Williams College to study Economics, Political Science, and Statistics.
Ignacio reflects that serving as a lector has changed his life, challenging him to think deeper about the scripture and messages it has for his life. The conservations he’s been a part of as a member of the board of the Franciscan Center for Urban Ministry have impacted what he looks to do in the future. We’re so proud of the work he’s done and excited for his upcoming endeavors!
