Parish Nurse Ministry Speaker Series

October 24 @ 6:30 pm 8:00 pm

The Parish Nurse Ministry team will be hosting a Speaker Series to educate, enlighten and empower ourselves while deciphering the many decisions as we age. Whether it be the medical, legal or spiritual realm, things are changing constantly which can be as confusing as it is difficult to keep up! Do you have as many questions as we do? If so, please join us!

Parish Nurse Ministry

We offer you …… Compassionate Care for Ourselves and Those we Love: Burden or Blessing; a series of Speakers who will bring their own expertise, experience and personal journeys on questions such as:

  • Theology on end of life care
  • Ethical decisions in the medical environment
  • Respecting choices
  • Advanced directives
  • Health care proxy
  • Palliative vs Hospice Care
  • Legal questions pertaining to Elder Care, Special Needs Trusts, estate planning and probate to name a few.
  • Celebration of Life Planning from funeral planning perspective.

We begin our series with a team from the Department of Spiritual Care at St. Francis Hospital Trinity Health of New England: Michael Rogers, PhD – Mission Integration Consultant; The Rev. Heather McDougall-Walsh, BCC, CCISM – Manager of Spiritual Care, and The Rev. Dr. Celillon Alteme, MACE, MDiv, DMin, ACPE, BCC – Manager of Clinical Pastoral Education. They will present on two occasions: October 24th and November 14th at 6:30pm in the Church. These sessions will be live streamed for those who cannot attend in person; however, we strongly encourage those, who are able, to attend in person to be able to ask questions and interact with our guest speakers.

We plan to continue our series with a legal expert followed by a local funeral director at dates to be determined. Stay tuned!
