Welcome to the Creation Care Corner!
Did You Know
That you can follow an eco-friendly diet and still eat meat?
Just eat less of it!
We know that meat production, especially beef, consumes large amounts of water and creates much more greenhouse gases than a plant based diet. Most of us have been eating meals with meat. An eco-friendly diet seems like too much of a change in our lives, so we resist this. If we know that we can make a difference in caring for creation, and we can still eat meat, than we might consider changing our eating habits.
Consider an eco-friendly diet.
We can consider “eating lower on the food chain” as part of answering Pope Francis’ call to care for creation. Are meatless Fridays a possibility in your home year round, instead of just during lent?
The Sisters of Mercy have provided a tasty list of recipes that might give us an easy way to start rethinking our meat dependency. Give them a try!
