Panel Discussion and Reception Thursday, September 29, 6–8 pm
This exhibition explored how young Muslim women in our community maintain their identities and values in the face of American mass culture. The evening’s program began with artist, Christine Breslin, presenting her work and included showing a video of the young women pictured in the exhibition, explaining their choice to wear the veil in adherence to Muslim tradition. Following the artist’s talk was an extended discussion about the stories of women of all faiths in the community.
