Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Last weekend’s celebration of the feast of our co-patron, St. Anthony of Padua, at the 4:00 Mass on Saturday raised almost $800 in donations for the support of our Sandwich Ministry. Thank you!
As many of you know, I am a huge fan of all things related to the pipe organ, so I am pleased to announce that our organs will be used for several days as part of a week-long Pipe Organ Encounter sponsored by the Greater Hartford chapter of the American Guild of Organists. During the last POE in 2022, our organs were used for lessons given to several young organ enthusiasts; this year we are pleased to repeat the opportunity for high-school age students to discover the beauty of our church and its music.
Throughout the coming week several concerts, free and open to the public, will be given on area organs. This Sunday evening, June 21, there will be a concert at St. John’s Episcopal Church in West Hartford at 7:30 PM by Nick Capozzoli and Ted Babbitt.
On Monday, June 22, at 7:30 PM the Cathedral of St. Joseph will host three renowned organists, Ken Cowan, Christopher Houlihan and Amanda Mole for a recital on the cathedral’s mighty Austin organ.
Wednesday, June 24, will feature a 6:00 PM organ recital at Trinity College by Madison Thompson, our former organ scholar, and Elijah Morris, a student currently at Trinity, followed by a carillon concert.
Sacred Heart Church in New Britain will be the setting for a recital on Thursday, June 25, by organists Nathaniel Gumbs, Margaret Harper and Lindsey Johnson played on their new Noack pipe organ.
Finally, on Friday, June 26, Trinity College will host a recital by students of the Pipe Organ Encounter at 11:00 AM. More information about the POE is available at hartfordago.org.
Blessings on your week ahead!
