Prayer • Fasting • Almsgiving
Live our Franciscan Mission with us… we are affiliated with many organizations that help those in need and who work with the marginalized. Join us to work with them, be the hands of Christ by giving of yourself during this season of Lent… and build community at the same time!
We also hope you’ll be able to join us for one or more of our Lenten programs to nourish your faith during this season of preparation.
Check out the link below for ways to nourish your faith with various programs for prayer during this season of preparation.

Palm Sunday Food Drive
we have another opportunity to put our faith into action through the Palm Sunday Food Drive. Food insecurity remains a real challenge for many in Greater Hartford. By collaborating with the House of Bread and Hands on Hartford, we extend our parish’s reach to those who depend on these ministries.
This year’s list includes a few fresh produce items, along with the invitation to tuck in something “Eastery” for children. You may also give financially if that is easier. Curbside drop-off remains simple.
Each of us is invited to offer what we can, trusting that even the smallest gift, given generously, makes a difference. “You are the light of the world.” Let your light shine in a way that brings hope to those who hunger.

Fight Food Insecurity With Us
Our St. Patrick-St. Anthony Community serves those in need in the Hartford area 365 days of the year. Click to view all the ways we serve, and join us!
Although we have many ways to join this fight against food insecurity, here are two ongoing weekly opportunities looking for sign-ups right now!
Pasta (+Protein) Tuesday Hot Meals

We have been serving SPSA prepared “to go” meals on Tuesdays for over two years. Can you join us?
Provide One Pound Trays of Baked Pasta + a Protein such as sausage, chicken, or other meat. We are always in need of one pound trays of baked pasta – ziti, meat sauce and pasta, creamy chicken and broccoli – your choice. Especially in these cold winter months, the need for a protein with the pasta is so important.
Cold Weather Emergency Shelter Sunday Meals

Teams of volunteers and our families in the Focus 4:12 program have been serving this need for years. This year the Shelter has increased available beds from 45 to 65, increasing the need. The shelter opens at 7pm each night and closes at 7am the next morning, as this is only a temporary shelter.
Help spread some cheer and share the warmth with a wonderful meal. We are looking for food donations and volunteers.
Join our Sister Parish Committee
Meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, join us March 10 at 12:45 pm in the Franciscan Center

The Sister Parish Committee facilitates and enhances the spiritual growth of the people of St. Patrick – St. Anthony Church and St. Geneviève Church through our Covenant Relationship, which creates a bond of solidarity between our two parishes.
St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church has been in a covenant relationship with St. Genevieve Church (Fouji, Zoranje, Haiti) since 2005 to build a bridge between our churches and to provide financial support for St. Genevieve’s parish and school.
Walk Against Hunger
Saturday, April 25, 2026

All proceeds raised from our team will benefit the House of Bread. Come join us for a fun morning of walking a 1.5 mile course in Hartford and making a difference at the same time!
St. Patrick – St. Anthony and the Franciscan Center have a long history of helping those facing food insecurity in the Greater Hartford area through our own programs and through partnerships like the House of Bread.
Join our Walk Against Hunger Team and share fun and fellowship with walkers from across Connecticut while supporting the House of Bread.
Helping Our Neighbors

St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church and the Franciscan Center regularly minister to our immigrant neighbors, particularly through our partnerships with area organizations. With those community partners, our parishioners volunteer as ESOL tutors and assist with legal emergency planning. As a member of the Greater Hartford Interfaith Action Alliance (GHIAA), St. Patrick-St. Anthony and the Franciscan Center have advocated for GHIAA’s immigrant rights agenda. Most currently, a statewide coalition including GHIAA is lobbying Governor Lamont to sign an executive order protecting CT’s National Guard from federal deployment for immigration enforcement. You can add your voice to those calling for this protection.
If you’d like to become involved with these initiatives, please contact Allison at [email protected].
