Our 20- year covenant with the parish of St. Genevieve provides sustainability and stability to a community surrounded by violence and chaos. Through earthquakes, hurricanes, a pandemic, and political and economic upheaval, our parish has provided unbroken support to St. Genevieve. Keeping our covenant requires a yearly infusion of funds to support the school, teacher and staff salaries, food for the children and elderly, and the staffing of a rudimentary health clinic. Fr. Gaby and our colleagues in Zoranje, Haiti do so much with what we give them. For six dollars per month per child, St. Genevieve parish provides the 400 children year-round simple meals of mostly beans and rice, peas, with an additional protein of fish. Our support also contributes to the salaries of qualified teachers and aides without whom the school could not succeed and nourishes community elders with no other source of income or support. Fr. Gaby and the parish council also disperse a small amount to support a rudimentary health clinic staffed by a nurse who lives in the community.

The Sister Parish Committee asks each of our parish households to contribute at the level that fits into your family budget. You will be a “pilgrim of hope” to strengthen the desires of families for a better future for their children. We have been there for them for 20 years and we cannot let them down.
